Dear Parents

Further to the Prime Minister’s announcement yesterday I can confirm that RGS will close on Friday. We may remain open on Monday onwards for students of key workers but I cannot, as yet, confirm what the details of this will be. Please be assured that we will do all that we can to support our students’ mental and academic well-being in the coming weeks. These are difficult times and we will work through it with them.

Further to Mr Auger’s email, please do inform the school as soon as possible via the link to the form below if you are listed as a key worker and whether you would want your child to come into school after Friday. RGS Key Worker Form

Further to the announcement that public examination are cancelled for this academic year, there is no clarity as to what this exactly means and until we have further information on this urgent matter I cannot speculate on what are the likely implications for our Year 11 and 13 and university admissions. I have spoken to students in Years 11, 12 and 13 this morning to reassure them and have stressed that they are all in the same situation as all students nationally, and that matters will be resolved. Please be assured that we will adapt our curriculum if needed to ensure some semblance of continuity can be maintained for them.

I would ask for your forbearance on this matter until we have the time to consider the matters at hand. After Monday the intention will be to continue to set work for all years groups online as previously communicated and again I will send further communication later on this matter.
