Year 9 entry student Katelyn celebrates all the nines

A STUDENT who was unsure about moving to Ripon Grammar School in Year 9 says she's delighted she made the right choice after triumphing in her GCSEs.

Katelyn Lim, 16, from Killinghall, scored a clean sweep of grade 9s in all 11 subjects, including further maths, classical civilisation and Spanish.

She will now take A-levels in chemistry, biology and art in addition to an extended project qualification.

"I joined RGS in Year 9, and was very unsure about moving schools, but I have grown to really appreciate RGS and I'm excited to start sixth form here this September," she said.

A talented painter, she hopes to study medicine and has been completing the St John's Ambulance NHS cadets programme over the last year.

"I'm really happy with my results, but I have to say it's thanks to the people in my life, like my parents and teachers, who have always been so supportive."
