Sam is off to Cambridge

A TALENTED musician has won a place to study maths at the University of Cambridge.

Ripon Grammar School student Sam Mulligan, who achieved A*s in maths, further maths and chemistry and A in physics, has also achieved Grade 8 in tuba and enjoys playing with the school’s brass ensemble and wind band.

“I was very happy with my results,” he said.

Sam was also recently placed in the top one per cent  of over 10,000 students from 660 schools across the country who entered a University of Cambridge national chemistry challenge.
