GEOGRAPHY: Malham field trip photo gallery

Our Year 7 geographers, currently exploring their 'Fantastic Places' topic, enjoyed a fascinating field trip to Malham in the Yorkshire Dales where they saw stunning scenery, waterfalls and Malham Cove's famous limestone pavement, as featured in the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows film. We hope you enjoy our photo gallery

"I think this trip was amazing. The bus trip there, although long, was great fun as I enjoyed chatting and playing with my friends. Learning about how the grykes formed was very interesting to me. Malham Cove also blew my mind because a long time ago there was a waterfall flowing over the edge, eroding it over millions of years and some years the temperature got so cold that it froze over! The walk up there was really long, the views were outstanding and seeing over the Moors was wonderful. Five stars!"

"My time on the Malham field trip helped me really understand nature. The hourly stops gave me time to rest for a bit and listen to the teachers explain how the different rock formations were made. The shop visit was just a bonus to the excitement I felt when for the first time I saw the limestone pavement laid out in front of me. If someone was to ask me if I would like to go again, I would squeal with excitement and cry out 'Yes!'. I think this trip was one of the best I have ever been on, and that's saying something! I would rate this trip 10/10"

"The Malham Cove trip was outstanding and very educational. The views were amazing and everyone learnt something new! Every one of my peers told me they loved it and thought it was an exciting new trip. I loved it too!

Three reasons why I liked the trip are:

1. There were new facts to collect and learn

2. The walk was awesome

3. The scenery was spectacular!

I definitely would recommend visiting Malham Cove. This is something Ripon Grammar School really should do next year!"
