FRGS: Join our family of fundraisers

WHETHER you’re a parent, grandparent or other extended family member, you’ll be warmly welcomed into our school fundraising team.

Sylvia and Malcolm Gardiner haven’t looked back since they joined three years ago, when their twin granddaughters started at RGS.

The couple moved from Peterborough to Harrogate in 2016 to be near their daughters, both working in the area as GPs, and their families.

Malcolm, a former finance director, and Sylvia, who worked in publishing, had both been active members of the parent teachers’ association at their daughters’ primary school in Peterborough.

“We derived great satisfaction from organising fundraising activities to purchase various items of equipment for the school,” says Malcolm, now treasurer of the Friends of RGS.

“During the past three years, we have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside such friendly colleagues in arranging major fundraising events such as the 1555 Ball and the serving of refreshments at various RGS events.”
