WELL done to parent Robbie Donaldson, who addressed the haggis with vigour at our popular Burns Night celebrations, which attracted more than 70 Highland jiggers.
A huge thank you also to our dedicated sixth form student team, who provided excellent service to our guests throughout the evening, and head girl and boy Amélie Chaduc and Oliver Kitson, who presented the haggis before its celebrated address.
RGS head chef Carl Perks and his team did an amazing job of sourcing, preparing and cooking the delicious supper, as did parent Diane Ostler, who made the amazing cranachan, and Ele and Mike, who manned the fully-stocked bar.
With sixth former Theo Kendrick overseeing the sound tech, the Capstick Ceilidh band energised us all with traditional Scottish music, which got everyone up and dancing. Thank you also to RGS pianists Aiden Ng and Tristan Roussell for their beautiful performances.
